The team placed 27th overall out of 103 chapters at the State CDE Competition, earning Third Place in Area and First Place in District. State-wide, there are over 1,050 FFA Chapters in Texas. This year also marked the first time in Mercedes history that the Horse Judging Team qualified for State.
A huge Tiger shoutout to the students, Advisor Eduardo Salinas, and all families and supporters, for their hard work and dedication. We are #MISDproud of the efforts these team members have shown throughout the CDE season!

It was an inspirational morning yesterday for 115 MECA students and P-TECH/STEM students from MHS as they attended a special screening of 'A Million Miles Away' at Bert Ogden Arena and heard from the first migrant farmworker turned NASA Astronaut Jose M. Hernandez. MECA student Alexakay Pena even had the opportunity to ask Astronaut Hernandez a question and received an autographed book.
